Dr. Mikhail received his Medical Degree from McGill University in Montréal, Quebec, Canada. He then completed his General Surgery residency at the University of Toronto.
He followed his passion and proceeded to subspecialize in Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery at the University of Florida, completing his training in 2007.
Dr. Mikhail’s paramount clinical interest is Minimally invasive mitral valve and aortic valve surgery with concomitant MAZE procedure for atrial fibrillation when indicated.
His expertise and interest in Minimally Invasive Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery includes TAVR for aortic valve stenosis, Endovascular Aortic Surgery for aortic aneurysms , Minimally invasive lung cancer surgery, and Endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy for hyperhidrosis.
He has a passion for his patient’s quick recovery with a return to a normal family and work life as soon as possible. This drives him to perform minimally invasive cardiovascular and thoracic surgery whenever feasible.
Dr. Mikhail is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery, The American Board of Thoracic Surgery and The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He is a Fellow of both the American College of Surgeons and the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada.
Dr. Mikhail has published multiple articles on thoracic surgery and cardiovascular procedures in various medical journals.
